PIRELLI HOSTS THE OPENING OF THE CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS TRACK BY ESTEVAN ORIOL

Victor at Id Agency invited me and Cartoon AKA Sanctiond Auto, out to the First Lap Ceremony at The Circuit Of The Americas event. The godfather of Formula One, Mario Andretti, who was the last American Formula One champion, did the first lap ceremony for the new Formula One track in Austin, Texas. Pirelli hosted a great event, we got to see a lot of cars and got to do a ridealong around the track in the Ford Shelby Mustang. The crazy thing about it, the guy that drove us around the track was only 16 years old and he's already in the pro racing circuit. Then Mario drove around his 1978 Lotus Formula One car. Cartoon was checking out this awesome Aston Martin 4 door Rapide. Also Patrick Dempsey of tv's Grey's Anatomy was one of the guest drivers giving ridealongs. A special thanks to Rafael Navarro of Pirelli North America for inviting us.

15 YR. ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIVESTRONG FOUNDATION BY ESTEVAN ORIOL

Cartoon and me and the SA crew went down to Austin, Texas for the celebration of Livestrong's 15th year anniversary. Aside from supporting Lance Armstrong, we went because Cartoon and Patrick Martinez did some paintings and donated them to the charity for the anniversary gala. It was a great night, it was good to see Lance staying strong through all that he's going through right now. It's crazy to see people going so hard at somebody that was doing what everybody else was doing. The one thing that sets him apart from the rest of the athletes and celebrities is he has helped thousands of people with cancer. I can't think of one person who has helped so many people more than him. His special guests included performances by Norah Jones, she did 2 songs and was incredible, Stephen Marley who did a 3 song acoustic set that was amazing. Sean Penn, Matthew Mcconaughey, and the CEO of Livestrong got up and showed their support for Lance and the Livestrong movement. They also had four survivors come up and tell their stories, including Brian Rose, who has stage 4 Melanoma cancer. Robin Williams took the stage to bring up the mood and had everybody laughing their ass off. They did a live auction to close out the night. Punkass from TapOut starting the bid on Cartoon's piece, Robin Williams also threw his bid in and Sean Penn ended up with the piece. All in all it was a great night, Livestrong raised 2.5 million dollars at the gala for cancer.

The next day we had to go get ourselves into some BBQ so we stopped by Smitty's Market for some of the best BBQ in Texas. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped by the Livestrong offices to check up on the mural that Cartoon did on their building last year. And it still looked good even with all that hot Texas sun beating on it.

CHRISTINE MENDOZA BY ESTEVAN ORIOL

I've shot Christine Mendoza a few times and she's one of my favorites to shoot. What I like about her is the way she hustles with her career. She's always a pleasure to work with, never complains or flakes on me, and always has a good attitude. If you want to see more of her stuff, go to http://lovechristinem.com/ or http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/christine-mendoza.
